SKILLED NURSING

Skilled nursing is the general and quite broad range of services that a registered nurse (RN) will administer in the comfort of a clients’ home.

Under skilled nursing is general disease management. Under the order of the clients’ physician, the nurse will execute a bespoke care plan that will have all the clients’ specific needs in mind.

  • Examples of common chronic diseases that fall under the skilled nursing scope are:

  • Advanced Diabetes with or without Neuropathy

  • Heart Diseases

  • Obesity

  • Cancer

  • Stroke

Often times, most skilled nursing clients have a combination a of the above diseases and more. They also have to deal with all the side effects of such ailments, which normally stack and complicate one another.

Skilled nursing is the most commonly ordered service for clients with home health orders. It is essentially the foundation for the order of any of the supplemental home care services below. The remaining services are only added if the physician feels they are needed to meet you individual health goal.
